I want to take this time to invite you to our 2017 Christian Prom. I know, you are asking the same questions that many have already asked me. Why must we have a Christian Prom? I have been working with young people for over 20 years now and I have seen the same issues surrounding prom. I have seen the financial issues, Peer Pressure, drugs, alcohol, sexual activity, ungodly music, and inappropriate dancing. I recognize things are different regarding times, but when it comes to sin; nothing new under the sun. Here at Maranatha Christian Center, we have formed a Committee to combat these things on a different level. We have organized a Christian Prom to offer young people an alternative. Our MCCProm 2016 (Just Like Heaven) was a huge success. We experienced teens that were free to honor God in the dance. They were able to fellowship, Dance, and just have fun without the standard that the world has set. We did not experience the pants sagging environment that our children have been exposed to within their everyday life. What we witnessed, can only be explained by saying Respectable Young Men,Virtuous Young Ladies, & Christlike Unashamed Teenagers. This year our theme is "One Night with the King."
When you come before a King, we are to bring a gift (Ps. 45:11,12). When Esther went to the king with a request, her gift was to adorn herself in her royal robes, and prepare herself with oils of myrrh and spices and cosmetics to make herself as beautiful as possible (Es. 2:12). Now it came about on the third day that Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king's palace in front of the king's rooms, and the king was sitting on his royal throne in the throne room, opposite the entrance to the palace. When the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight. What do we bring before the Lord? What do we have to bring him? What do we have to do to prepare for our Night with our King?
We train our Youth in the way that they shall go. We don't allow them to use their own understanding to find their way. We understand that there is a way that may seem right to this world, but we must teach them not to go off of what some say and to follow the Spirit of God. We First train them to pull their pants up and dress accordingly. This is why we have a strict dress code that prohibits clothing that may be inappropriate to be presented before a King. If you can't bow due to something may be released or your pants may fall, this is not appropriate. We want to train our Youth to dress in elegance with a spirit of excellence. We want to teach them how to dine with the proper tools. We want to present an environment that is conducive for the Spirit of GOD to dwell so that he could have his way.
We want our Young People to dance unto the LORD and not to be focus on their partner's body. We do not want them to be concerned about Peer Pressure, Drugs, alcohol, or any sexual activity. Help us to help you prepare your Child for their One Night with the King.....
We Would Love to Have You Visit Soon!
